Course Description for World History
In this course students will apply knowledge gained in previous years of study to
pursue a deeper understanding of world history. In addition, they draw on
their studies of ancient history and middle ages. This course should be
viewed as the culmination of the global history in reference to U.S. History
and American Government.
Satisfies UC/CSU requirements.
Course Description for US History
The main focus of the course is spanning the history of the U.S. from the 18thcentury to the 20thcentury. Starting with the Colonial Era, the class deals next with the Revolution, Westward Expansion, Civil War, WWI and its impact on the home front, the Roaring Twenties, the Great Depression, and the New Deal.
In addition, the course provides for an analysis of American participation in
WWII, and the economic boom in post WWII America, foreign policy after
WWII, The Civil Rights struggle. An analysis of major social problems and
domestic issues of contemporary American Society conclude the course
topics. Satisfies UC/CSU requirements.
